Dr. Amanda Laird came to Charlotte in 2005.  A native of Louisiana, Dr. Laird attended medical school at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport, Louisiana.  She completed her general surgery residency at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. 

Dr. Laird is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  She is a member of the North Carolina Medical Society, Charlotte Surgical Society, Bowman Gray Surgical Society, and Mecklenburg Medical Society. 

Dr. Laird enjoys the full spectrum of general surgery.  She has experience in the surgical treatment of breast cancer and benign breast disease, gallbladder and biliary disease, colon cancer and diverticulosis, endocrine disease such as thyroid and parathyroid disease, and in the treatment of hernias.  She is also skilled in minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery.  Dr. Laird also serves as a trauma surgeon for Presbyterian Hospital.

Dr. Laird is Board Certified.
